The DAMMUSO (typical dome-house of Pantelleria) MIZAR is situated in the heart of the island of Pantelleria, in the magnificent plain of Muegen, where nature and the cultivation of vines and capers offer the visitor an uncontaminated and authentic view of the island. It is a typical dwelling of the island of Pantelleria, among the oldest of the upland. It has been restored recently, while carefully retaining its original caracteristics of an agricultural dwelling and is today an ideal solution for a delightful holiday at Pantelleria. One can appreciate the authenticity of the island without forgoing its comfort.
The main building (about 180 sm) is composed of:
- A large dinette kitchen.
- Dining room with fireplace.
- Suite with alcove (typical double bedroom of Pantelleria) and communicating private bathroom.
- Bedroom with bunk bed, ante bathroom and bathroom communicating with the suite.
- Independent second suite with sitting room, large fireplace and spacious bathroom.
The depandance is composed of:
- One Bedroom with two single beds and built-in wardrobe.
- A Spacious bathroom with shower.
- A Kitchenette.
The winemaking in the past was done within the largest storeroom (now the second suite), in which after the restoration the containers of fermentation are still partly visible.
The dammuso is surrounded by a large external garden of about 2500 mq. cultivated with olives, capers and vines. In front of the dining room is a large terrace of about 150 mq. with a large table for lunch and dinner, hammocks, a wood burning oven and an outside space for kitchen and barbecue.
The possibility of living in the outside areas (terraces, gardens, ovens for bread making, grill and the vineyard) gives a particularly natural feeling to the holiday of being part of the scenery and the light of the valley. An outside shower and a second courtyard before the annexe complete the integration of the domestic arrangements with the landscape.
The lack of pollution of the environment and the lack of electric illumination in the valley of Muegen enables an observation of the nocturnal sky with an almost tridimentional impression.
Dammuso MIZAR is an ideal solution for families and family groups (sumptuous for 2 people, it can comfortably accommodate up to 10, in separate and equally comfortable spaces) who wish to enjoy a holiday in direct contact with the nature of the island and a starry sky.
The nearest seaside place is at less than 10 minutes by car.
Excursions on foot leave directly from the dammuso, to explore the valley of Muegen and the surrounding areas, among the wildest and most beautiful of all Pantelleria.
A few metres away from the dammuso you will find the cellars of probably the world’s best producers of Passito: Salvatore Ferrandes. The cellars are open to visitors, for further information refer to the website of the producer (www.passitodipantelleriaferrandes.com).
